Why did it take me so long to discover LibraryThing? Well, I knew about it, I just didn’t realize how astoundingly and utterly cool it is. I thought you’d have to type in all kinds of book information and your fingers would fall off with all the numbing repetition … nuh uh, you do a search and up it pops, cover art and all! Add tags, a review, rate it, see who else has read it, see what they’re reading, add a widget to your webpage (except here, where that kind of script isn’t allowed … oh well, you can see what it looks like over at my work identity).
So why can’t library catalogs be half as fun and flexible? I know, I’m hardly the first to say this, but – really, why not!?
